Business architecture requires a lot processes that work together to support a school or school district to meet their vision and goals. I have discovered the importance of implementing technology design in Enterprise Education Architecture. The four parts which are: Business, Information, Applications and Technology, help to create a cohesiveness that will make it easier to find what your agency needs, what it currently has and how you can you use these things to continue pursuing your vision.
The business, or initial part, is a very crucial part of the process that is the “foundation and drives all architectures making sure E.E.A focuses on agency’s goals”. (Page 11, EEA Guidebook) This part will support my current organization to make sure that the path or end in mind is clearly defined, so that we can develop a sustainable plan. Lastly this approach “builds consensus” (Page 11, EEA Guidebook) amongst all stakeholders, so that we continue to speak the same common language and build that credibility in the agency. When all of the stakeholders are speaking the same common language it is easier to assess whether the agency is on the right path. This is something my agency currently has worked hard in doing. We focus on our mission statement as a guiding point, so that we are all using it to establish our path.
