Calendar, Monitoring Plan and Communication Plan
1.Indicate what will happen from September to June, 2015-16, in your plan. Include contact with Leadership, Advisory Team Meetings (you should create a group to oversee process), professional development, assessments, and any activities
This will be my 2015-16 timeline. I divided it by trimester because I believe that this will allow me to gather enough information to show progress, be realistic with the number of times I will be meeting with parents and be able to adjust and monitor the progress.
2. List data to be gathered throughout the year to determine progress and guide adjustments.
- *SST, Previous Report Card’s, School File = Beginning of the year
- *DRA scores = Every Trimester
- *District Benchmarks = Every Trimester
- *STAR Scores = Every 25 days
- *Weekly Comprehension Tests = Once every Week or two weeks (depending on the story/progress of the class)
- *AR Quizzes = Ongoing (1 or 2 quizzes every week)
3. How will I communicate progress with stakeholders? (leadership, teachers, families and students)
I think that good communication is the glue that will hold this whole process together. Therefore it is imperative that I find the quickest and most efficient form of communicating with each stakeholder. We live in an era in which being connected is the norm, with the technology currently available I can easily meet each stakeholders’ specific communication needs. I can communicate with regular updates through email (Leadership, teachers, families), our LMS(Learning Management System) by posting our foc, Skype, text, Remind(free, safe messaging app), Classdojo (behavior management system with messaging) and/or phone. This year I have had great results with a balance between texting, Remind, Class Dojo, and our LMS. I think because of the amount of information and resources that will be available on our LMS, I will emphasize and push for this to be our main source of communication, and use texting for quick direct reminders to my focus group students’ parents.
