"Many organizations are realizing the strategic impact and business value that EA generates." (Cameron,p.60) Just like this statement from the reading I was able to understand the importance of what an EA is in and what it does in the business sector.
While creating the KWL chart I noticed that I did know something about EA, I just didn't know that that’s what it was called. This was a surprise to me because the idea of what an EA was seemed like such foreign and difficult concept to understand. I kept thinking business and couldn't see how it would relate to education. Now I can say that I know a lot more. I know that there 5 types of EAFs and that each of these were created to support and guide businesses, as they attempt to meet their mission by creating a framework that would support their needs. I also learned that all businesses, even though they have very similar needs and objectives, don't fit into just one category. This is why there are various types of EAFs. The development of these EAFs consisted on supporting, as I stated before, their vision/mission. Furthermore, an EAF is a great way to keep an agency on task and always current on its path to meeting its mission and vision. This is when I finally saw the parallel with what we do and need in an educational setting. Even though I still have an abundance of information to learn about EAFs, I feel that at least my current understanding of this subject will make it easier to learn more about them as the semester progresses.
