Enterprise Architecture relates to the structure of an agency's vision and goals. I had hard time understanding the process at first, but after reading about the different types but more specifically, that of Education Enterprise Architecture. I am now aware of how important it is to implement something like it. EEA will create "a strategic framework that can provide the structure, plan and processes to achieve an education agency's vision and goals by aligning its business program side with information technology(IT)." (Page 5, Reform Support Network) This methodology was clearly created to support and produce successful educational agencies.
My role as an educator and future educational leader will require that I have a strategic plan in place. This is where EEA comes into play. EEA can help me by blending the IT and business program side. These two things are the foundation for a successful program. With the abundance of IT available out there having a clear vision with supportive goals makes it easier for any education agency, and the leader of this agency, to be successful.
EEA is similar to the formative and summative assessments that I use to guide my students' learning. The learning direction is always changing and any piece can be moved around to better meet my learners needs all based on these assesments.
