- Describe how leadership, teachers, families and students will be involved in this process. What role will each play?
I would begin by meeting with our school’s principal to discuss the plan. I want to make sure that he/she provides our group with feedback and perhaps add to our plan based on his/her experience. I would hope that with the feedback from this meeting our group of teachers can feel comfortable and empowered knowing that the principal is supporting our cause.
I would then have a session in which we (teachers), discuss the pacing that will keep us focused and on track. This would allow for all involved to give their input/concerns about the plan, our goals, and the upkeep of all of this. This would allow us to make adjustments and setup the format of our meetings.
At the beginning of the year I would meet with each of my students’ parents to show them what the plan is, why we’re doing this and how they will support us so that the expectations and responsibilities are clearly established from the beginning.
- What are the interventions that you plan to implement based on your goals and objectives?
Faculty/staff: learn ways to effectively use data, review how closely monitor student progress, learn how to integrate technology into their classroom.
Families/communities: Learn how to support student at home with homework, develop a plan for communicating with their teacher on a regular basis.
- What type of support will be needed to carry this out?
