I did not have any other options posted because I really wanted to take on this challenge. I had been thinking about this for quite a few years and when this 20% Project opportunity was present. I jumped at the chance.
I really feel that this project will help me see how well I can plan the multiple steps needed to reach a goal that should be attainable in a few weeks. I hope that I can learn meet my goal of learning how to tailor a shirt, not just as a temporary thing, but as something that I can continue to use, and perfect in the future. With this journey, I also hope to build that idea of challenging myself and being active in the things I would like to learn about because I live a connected world that makes it possible and I want to.
Initial steps:
I will begin doing research online to try and get information from sewing experts, i.e. from actual tailors, seamstresses etc. and find out what would be a good, affordable, basic sewing machine to get me started. Then I will create a schedule for my practice time, observations, meetings with experts, and youtube video tutorials that will help me work on my technique. I will take you through my 20% Project journey via Video Journals posted to this blog. I hope to have 5 video journals total; more if time allows. This will help me see how I've progressed in my 20% Project journey and at same time analyze my final results.
Stay tuned for the first video! :0)
